A rodding eye is a capped access point at ground level giving direct entry into a drain run for rods, jetting hoses and survey cameras. It is fitted where a full inspection chamber is not practical, typically at the head of a run or at a change of direction.

The cap should be sealed. A missing or broken rodding eye cap is a common rat entry point and lets surface debris into the foul system.
