Drain Excavation & Re-Lay

When there's no pipe left to line, we replace it properly.

Some drainage problems can't be solved by lining. A fully collapsed pipe, a severe belly, or a poorly-installed extension connection may need a section of drain to be dug out and re-laid. Our excavation team works surgically — narrow trenches, careful reinstatement of paving, block and turf, and full building-control sign-off where the work needs it.

Warning signs

  • CCTV shows total collapse or severe deformation
  • Ground has visibly sunk above the drain run
  • Rat ingress into the property
  • Repeated blockages resistant to jetting and lining

Common causes

  • Age-related failure of clay or pitch-fibre drainage
  • Heavy vehicle traffic over shallow drainage
  • Ground movement from tree roots or subsidence
  • Substandard connections from unauthorised building work
Our process

How we handle drain excavation & re-lay

01
Pre-dig CCTV & locator
Exact position and depth of the defect confirmed on the surface.
02
Careful excavation
Narrow, hand-dug trench where services are congested.
03
Pipe replacement
Modern UPVC or clay pipe fitted with proper falls and bedding.
04
Reinstatement
Paving, block, tarmac or turf reinstated to match existing.
05
Post-work CCTV & sign-off
Video and (where needed) building-control approval.

Kit we bring

  • Mini-excavators
  • Hand excavation tools for congested sites
  • UPVC and clay drainage stock
  • Reinstatement materials

While you wait — do

  • Get building control involved for any structural work
  • Photograph existing paving before work starts

Please don't

  • Don't accept an excavation quote without a CCTV survey supporting the need

Common questions

How long does an excavation take?
Most single-defect excavations complete within 1–2 days including reinstatement.
Will you reinstate my patio to match?
Yes — we lift slabs and blocks carefully and reinstate to match. On highways or complex finishes we bring in specialist reinstatement partners.

Blocked drain? Not for long.
