Blocked Toilet Unblocking

One flush, one fix. No mess left behind.

Blocked toilets are the single most common call we take — and the messiest to leave overnight. Whether the blockage is in the pan, the soil stack or further downstream in the underground drain, we'll identify the exact cause and clear it without turning your bathroom into a building site.

Warning signs

  • Water rising above the normal level when you flush
  • Slow or weak flush that doesn't fully clear the pan
  • Gurgling from the shower or bath when the toilet is flushed
  • Bad smells from the pan even after cleaning
  • Repeated blockages within the same week

Common causes

  • Excessive toilet paper or wet wipes flushed at once
  • Nappies, sanitary products or cotton buds in the trap
  • Children's toys or air fresheners dropped into the pan
  • Blockage downstream in the soil stack or drain
  • Limescale build-up in the flush rim reducing flow
Our process

How we handle blocked toilet unblocking

01
Rapid diagnosis
We check the pan, cistern and nearby manholes to isolate the blockage.
02
Protect the space
Sheeting and towels laid to keep your bathroom clean.
03
Clear the trap
Specialist toilet augers used to clear the pan without cracking porcelain.
04
Drain check
Downstream drain rodded or jetted if the blockage is further along.
05
Flush test & sanitise
Multiple flushes confirmed and area sanitised before we leave.

Kit we bring

  • Toilet augers with protective sleeves
  • Manual and electric drain rods
  • Mini-jetter for short runs
  • CCTV mini-camera for post-clearance inspection

While you wait — do

  • Turn off the water supply at the isolation valve behind the pan
  • Do not flush again — it will overflow
  • Lay old towels around the base
  • Ventilate the room

Please don't

  • Don't use a coat hanger — you'll scratch the pan and lose it
  • Don't pour boiling water into porcelain — it can crack
  • Don't tip caustic unblocker into the pan — it splashes back

Common questions

Can you clear a blocked toilet without removing the pan?
Yes, 95% of the time. We only remove a pan as a last resort when the blockage is lodged in the trap and can't be reached with an auger.
What if the blockage is in the shared drain?
We'll trace the blockage, and if it's downstream of your boundary we'll liaise with your water company on your behalf.
