New build drains most often block because of construction debris left in the system — cement, plaster, brick fragments and site rubbish — or because of poor gradients and badly formed connections. Both are defects, and on a new home they should be raised with the developer under warranty.
A CCTV survey is the evidence that turns "the drain keeps blocking" into a warranty claim. It shows debris, standing water from a fall problem, or a badly made junction.
NHBC and similar warranties cover drainage defects in the early years, so do not simply pay to have it cleared repeatedly.
Keep every report and invoice — a pattern of recurring blockages backed by survey footage is a strong position.
