Walk the drain line and look for damp ground, unusually vigorous grass growth or a soft spot. That is where to start.
Lift the chambers and check the levels. A chamber holding standing water when nothing is running indicates a downstream restriction.
A CCTV survey with a dye or smoke test locates the escape point precisely. Left alone, a leaking drain undermines the ground around it and attracts rats.
